HEADLINE STILLMAN GOLF TOURNAMENT
12th Annual Stillman College Scholarship Golf Tournament
Fun, fellowship, and friendly, but fierce competition dominated at the 12th Annual Stillman College Scholarship Golf Tournament, held Friday, October 19 in Birmingham at Roebuck Golf Course. Approximately 68 golfers competed for the coveted Stillman golf awards, but none more fiercely than the select group of Scholarship Swingers who competed in raising funds for scholarships through financial sponsorships for themselves. Earning the title of Stillman Scholarship Swinger of the Year 2012 were Gloria Dennard, Stillman alumna and Darryl Jones, member of the tournament planning team, who raised the largest amount in the competition. Others participating in the Scholarship Swinger competition were Corine Williams, Stillman alumna, Jordan Frazier, honorary Stillman alumnus, and Alvin Washington, member of the planning team. Bobby Humphrey, former star running back at the University of Alabama and with the Denver Broncos of the NFL, was dynamic as the tournament's celebrity golfer with whom the various teams were able to tee off and take memorable, souvenir photographs.
