Stillman Alum to be honored by the Boy Scouts of America

Boys Scouts of America Honoree:
Lieutenant General Willie J. Williams

The Boy Scouts of America is sponsoring the Annual Whitney M. Young, Jr. Banquet, Friday, February 10, 2012, 6:00 p.m. at the Huntsville Marriott Hotel. The banquet is a major program of the Boy Scouts of America Scoutreach Program and is designed primarily to recognize prominent scouting supporters and community leaders in the Northern Area of the Greater Alabama Council. The Scoutreach mission is to recruit strong adult leaders and to develop solid relationships with chartered organizations in urban and rural communities nationwide to ensure that all youth have the opportunity to join the scouting program. Several citizens of Madison and adjacent counties will be recognized at the banquet.
This year’s guest speaker is LtGen Willie J. Williams, Director Marine Corps Staff, the Pentagon, Washington, DC. He assumed his current position in July 2009 following a successful command of the Marine Corps Logistics Command, Albany GA. LtGen Williams has a distinguished career that has taken him around the world in key high level command and staff positions. LtGen Williams is a native of Alabama.
