Stillman football players signed to NFL

Tuscaloosa, AL| Two former Stillman football player’s signed NFL free agent contracts this past weekend.
 Running back Quinn Porter signed with the Green Bay Packers and defensive end Junior Galette signed with the Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints.
 

Porter, a Los Angeles, CA native measured in at his Pro Day with a height of 6-foot, 205 pounds. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.45 seconds. Porter measured a 32 1/2-inch vertical jump, a 9-foot-3 broad jump and completed 16 repetitions on the 225-pound bench press.
 

Junior Galette measured in at 6-foot-2, 257-pounds at the NFL combine.
He also bench pressed 225 pounds 25 times and posted a 33 1/2 inch vertical leap.
Galette was invited to the Texas vs. the Nation all-star game, recording a sack in the game.
 

The Division II All-American is a native of Haiti with several relatives still living in the earthquake-ravaged Caribbean island.

Porter and Galette look to join the ranks of former Stillman players and current NFL players Sammie Hill (Detroit Lions) and Brian “spoon” Witherspoon (Carolina Panthers) if the pair makes their respective squads.

“It speaks volumes about our program when our students go on to play at the next level, said Athletic Director Curtis Campbell. It also helps with recruiting. Sometimes students think the only way to get to the next level is to play for a D-I program. But with today’s technology and the speed that information travels, if a student has the skills the NFL will find them.”
