Heaven currently serves as president of Student Government Association. He has a 3.96 grade point average.

The breakfast is a part of the annual events for the Magic City Classic, which culminates in the game against Alabama A&M University and Alabama State University. To date, the Birmingham Business Alliance African American Business Council has provided more than $39,000 in scholarships to Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

The featured speaker at this year's breakfast was John Stallworth, chairman of the Stallworth Foundation and former National Football League player. Stallworth is a graduate of Alabama A&M University and was drafted by the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers in 1974. He played his entire career with the Steelers and earned four Super Bowl titles while with the team.
