Softball team splits with Judson

TUSCALOOSA | Judson and Stillman split a doubleheader in Tuesday softball action.
In the first game, Judson defeated Stillman 4-2 after Stillman had four errors and stranded nine runners. Stillman was led by Nish Nelson, who went 3-for-4 with a solo homerun and a steal.
Danielle Hewett went 2-for-3 with a double, Anjelica Nixon had a single, two steals and a run scored. Keyshia Edwards had a single.
Judson was led by Tori Spencer, who went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.
Nesha McGriff got the win for Judson, allowing seven hits and two runs while striking out six and walking four over a complete game.
Hewett got the loss for Stillman, pitching a complete game with four runs allowed, four hits, one strikeout, and no walks.
In the second game, Stillman pulled out a 5-4 win in the bottom of the seventh inning on a Janay Hudson RBI.
Hewett (6-12) got the win, allowing three earned runs, 11 hits, one walk, and with no strikeouts over a complete game.
Stillman was led by Hewett, who was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, Edwards, who was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Hudson, who was 2-for-3.
Judson pitcher Elyse McIntyre got the loss, allowing five earned runs, 13 hits, and striking out two and walking one.
Judson was led by Spencer, McGriff and Whitney Bryant, all of whom had two hits and an RBI.
Stillman (8-14) will play in a SIAC West Conference Matchup in Memphis, Tenn. against LeMoyne Owen.
The teams will play a doubleheader today at 1 p.m., and then another game Thursday at noon.
