Stillman Journalism Major Snags Internship at V103 in Atlanta
David McIntosh, an Atlanta, Ga., native, and senior majoring in journalism at Stillman, is spending his summer on a coveted internship at CBS radio in Midtown Atlanta, Ga., for the radio station V-103.
Stephen Jackson, associate professor of journalism at Stillman, suggested the internship and wrote a letter of recommendation for McIntosh. After discussing McIntosh’s career goals of working in television and radio production, Jackson suggested the department in which McIntosh should seek to do the internship.
“I'm interning in the production department. I have learned a lot. I have learned how to record audio and voice tracks needed for radio promos, how to create and edit radio promos, and how to input music and organize music into the radio station's data base,” he said. “Also, they are preparing me and the other interns in my department for the famous ‘Car and Bike Show’ in Atlanta.”
"The internship is amazing. I've met many famous radio personalities. I work in a real audio studio where I record and edit voice tracks of celebrities, and create radio commercials. The staff is wonderful. They help you any way they can and treat you like you are one of them."
