Recognized as a global leader in human resources, training and development, Lisa Wicker has written two critically acclaimed books: The Winning Spirit: Building Employee Enthusiasm and Power Play: Discover the Secrets to Spirit-Winning Success, along with numerous articles on leadership and employee engagement. She has presented to global audiences representing more than 80 countries, including Barcelona, Spain, Seoul, South Korea, Stuttgart, Germany and Tokyo, Japan.
Wicker has served on numerous boards, including her role as a current trustee for Stillman College's board of directors as former vice chair of Alternatives for Girls and as an adjunct professor in the School of Business Administration at Wayne State University. She was a member of the White House Steering Committee on Historically Black Colleges and Universities and was voted one of the most successful businesswomen in Detroit by The Detroit News in 2002. She also received the 2003 National Women of Color Professional Achievement Award and subsequently in 2009 received the Corp! Magazine Michigan Diversity Business Leader Award. Wicker is also the founder and honorary board chair of 101 Best Companies to Work for in Metropolitan Detroit, a program that recognizes companies for valuing the contributions and diversity of its employees.
She is a living example of her personal motto: "Believe in yourself and win in all circumstances regardless and in spite of obstacles."
