Tennis Teams Honored, Advance in SIAC Tournament

Atlanta, GA| Five Stillman Tennis players were named all -SIAC on yesterday and Head Coach William Riley was named SIAC Coach of The Year.

 For the women, Freshman Whitney Horner and Junior Joyce Lewis were named to the second team in singles.

The pair was named second team for doubles as well.

 Freshmen Jeshua Irazabal, Felipe Farias, and Sophomore Anes Hrjnic were named 1st team ALL-SIAC in singles for the men. Jeshua Irazabal and Felipe Farias were named 1st team in doubles action also.

Jeshua Irazabal received freshman of the year honors after a stellar season.

 William Riley received coach of the year honors after he led his teams to a combined 16-8 SIAC record.

"Several of my players have excelled above and beyond this season and really deserve every honor," said Riley."We have a good chance to win championships for years to come with the addition of the new players we have".

 Stillman women took care of Clark Atlanta 5-2 today in the opening round of the tournament.

Stillman will take on #1 seed Tuskegee tomorrow at 9.

 The Tigers got a first round win over Lemoyne-Owen by forfeit 5-0 and will take on #2 seed Morehouse tomorrow at noon.

 In Track and Field, Jasmine Leatherwood received ALL- Academic honors with her 3.84 GPA.
