  • Create a space where you can photograph your artwork without any distracting clutter. A neutral color (white, gray, tan) background is best. Hanging flat work on walls makes this easy, but won't work for sculpture. You can set something up using poster board or even a plain bedsheet in the background.
  • Try to keep your camera parallel to the work- if your camera is at an angle the photo will keystone (look wider on one side than another).
  • Make sure there's no glare on your artwork- don't use a flash, it can cause weird reflections and even change the way the colors look.
  • Lastly, keep the camera still while taking pictures. You can steady your arms by keeping your elbows against your ribcage.
