SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Priority Deadline for Scholarships: April 1 Annually.

In order to be considered for a scholarship, a student must submit a completed scholarship application to scholarships@stillman.edu. All questions should be directed to the Office of Scholarships at (205) 366-8893 or scholarships@stillman.edu. *Scholarship awards subject to change without notice.

SCHOLARSHIPS OFFERED

ACADEMIC

Awarded based upon the applicant’s academic record. The award cannot exceed full tuition and fees. Must have GPA from 2.5 to 4.0

ATHLETIC

Athletic scholarships are a great way to pay for college, and they are awarded based on individual talent.

BAND

Scholarship funds are awarded to band students based on individual achievements. The goal of the scholarship is to award students on the basis of individual achievements and motivates students to continue participating in the Marching Band.

CHOIR

Vocalists may bring an accompanist, use the accompanist provided by the College, or bring CD accompaniment.

DEPARTMENTAL

Academic Departments award scholarships from their prospective school, college, or academic department. These scholarships are awarded through the departments.

VISUAL ARTS

Applicants can provide a portfolio of three to five pieces of artwork (drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, craft, or design).

ALUMNI

The program is designed to reward high school seniors and transfer students of alumni (family members) who graduated from Stillman College.

ENDOWED

Available for selected students who fall into the eligibility set by donor criteria and are awarded at the Annual Honors Day. The scholarship deadline for endowed apps is February 1st annually).

TRANSFER

Transfer Scholarships are awarded to students transferring from a two-year community college with sufficient hours to be classified as a Stillman College junior; based upon leadership and academic achievement at the community college.

INTERNATIONAL

International scholarships are available to help international students pay for tuition.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Scholarships are awarded to students who have successfully completed the scholarship application by the April 1 deadline annually.

Academic scholarships are awarded based upon the applicant’s academic record. The scholarships awarded cannot exceed full tuition and fees. Students receiving tuition remission benefits or other awards from the College or any other source must adhere to this policy. Students must apply for these scholarships online. Priority will be given to those who have completed all requirements by June 1.

COMPLETE FASFA

If you haven’t already, apply for financial aid by submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid by the February 1 priority filing date. You can submit your FAFSA as early as Oct. 1. If you miss the priority deadline, you should still apply because you may still be eligible for some types of assistance.

Complete all applications in accordance with instructions, and have the following items submitted to the Office of Admissions.

SCHOLARSHIP OPTIONS FOR MINORITY STUDENTS

A number of external organizations also offer scholarships, and many of them are designed to help black students, black women, HBCU students, Hispanic students, and other minority students. We encourage you to go after all kinds of scholarships and be sure to explore options with your local organizations and churches.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

We offer Transfer Scholarships to incoming transfer students from the following community colleges. Transfer students who complete their Associate Degree from the below regionally accredited community colleges with a 3.0 or greater cumulative GPA are eligible. Students must register for a minimum of 15 credit hours, remain enrolled full-time and maintain a 3.0 GPA for all work completed at Stillman College in order to sustain their scholarship. The Transfer Scholarship of $2000 per year ($1000/semester) is awarded to full time, on campus students. To be considered for these scholarships, you must submit a completed application and provide supplemental materials by December 15 (for spring semester) and August 1 (for fall semester) annually.
