Job Summary:

The Director of Student Engagement & Leadership reports directly to the Vice President of Student Affairs. The primary responsibility of the Director of Student Engagement and Leadership is to create a positive and inclusive school environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.  

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage the Student Government Association.
• Direct and manage community service hours and work closely with Enrollment Management, Athletics, Career Services, and Academic Affairs to facilitate a comprehensive and holistic living and learning environment.
• Student Leadership Development: Plan and implement programs to develop student leadership skills and encourage civic engagement.
• Coordinate and plan college events such as SGA Installation, Homecoming Activities, and other special events.
• Work collaboratively with various campus offices to coordinate and host programs and events for Freshman Student Orientation.
• Work closely with faculty, parents, and other student support staff to address students’ individual needs and concerns.
• Contribute to the development of student body policies related to student conduct.
• Ensure that college policies and procedures are communicated clearly to students and staff with consistent enforcement.
• Provide guidance and support for the professional development of faculty and staff, particularly in areas related to student engagement and behavior management.
• Analyze student data to identify trends and areas of improvement and use this information to implement effective strategies.
• Collaborate and work closely with Residence Life to ensure a safe, engaging, and productive living and learning campus environment.

Education and Experience:

• Master’s degree preferably in Educational Leadership, Higher Education Administration, or similar discipline of study. 
• At least two years of experience working with students on a college or university campus.

Physical Requirements: 

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
