STILLMAN COLLEGE CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE FALL 2021

All students, faculty and employees are expected to adhere to safe practice guidelines which include:

  • Mandatory masks/face coverings in all Stillman College buildings and classrooms.
  • Physical distancing when possible.
  • Safe hygiene (frequent handing washing and sanitizing contact surfaces).

Enforcement of the above practices is essential to mitigating the spread of COVID-19 and measures to monitor adherence will be enforced.

MANDATORY COVID-19 TESTING AT STILLMAN

Testing is an essential tool in the fight against COVID-19.  COVID-19 Testing is MANDATORY for Fall 2021 entry.  All students, faculty and staff are required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test for the Fall 2021 semester. No student will be allowed to register for classes or enter campus or off-campus housing without proof of a negative COVID-19 test result

Free COVID-19 testing is being offered at Stillman College on the following dates:

  • Friday, August 6, 2021–9 am-3 pm in Birthright Alumni Hall for EMPLOYEES ONLY. No scheduling is required. Photo ID required for testing.
  • Saturday, August 7th to Sunday, August 8th, 2021— 9 am-3 pm in Birthright Alumni Hall for New Students and Employees. Scheduling is required. Go to https://stillmantesting.com/ (Appointments available now). Photo ID required for testing.
  • Saturday, August 14th to Tuesday, August 17th, 2021–9 am-3 pm in Birthright Alumni Hall for Returning Students and Employees. Scheduling is required. Go to https://stillmantesting.com/ (Website will be open for new appointments after August 10, 2021). Photo ID required for testing.
  • Students, faculty and employees may provide a test conducted by their physician or other health care professional to meet the negative COVID-19 test requirement. The test result submitted by this method can be an antigen rapid response test. The date the test was performed cannot be before August 10, 2021.

TESTING OF PERSONS SYMPTOMATIC FOR COVID-19 (VACCINATED OR UNVACCINATED PERSONS)

  1. This type of testing is NOT available at Stillman College.
  2. Students, faculty and employees who have symptoms of COVID-19 should immediately report to their health care provider, local hospital, or urgent care facility.
 

TESTING OF PERSONS WITH DIRECT EXPOSURE (VACCINATED OR UNVACCINATED PERSONS)

  1. This type of testing is NOT available at Stillman College.
  2. Testing for students, faculty and employees directly exposed to a COVID-19 positive person should be sought from a health care provider or an urgent care center.

WHAT IF YOU TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID-19?

  • Don’t panic!
  • All students, faculty and employees MUST report COVID-19 positive results and possible direct exposure contact to Stillman designated COVID-19 contact individuals.

    3. All COVID-19 positive students and students with suspected direct contact with a COVID-19 positive person should stay in their room and avoid contact with others. Immediately contact Mr. Marcus Kennedy, Student.  He will provide specific instructions on what to do next.
  • Isolation/Quarantine
    1. Any student who tests positive will be required to return home or quarantine/isolate in a residence off campus. Students are encouraged to make transportation plans in the event of a positive test.
    2. On campus and off-campus housing will be closed to any student who tests positive. Housing will become available only after the student has completed the required isolation/quarantine period and has produced a negative test result.
    3. While Stillman College follows the general isolation/quarantine guidelines suggested by the CDC and ADPH, Stillman College isolation/quarantine policies will reflect the protocols to protect our vulnerable population

VACCINATION OPPORTUNITIES AT STILLMAN COLLEGE

Whatley Health Center will offer free COVID-19 vaccination at Stillman on the following dates and times:

  • Friday, August 13th—1 pm – 4 pm and Tuesday, August 17th—8 am – 12 pm
Location: Stillman Student Health Clinic in the Johnson-Robinson Health Center Building.  Photo ID required for vaccination.

Alabama Department Public Health (ADPH) will offer free COVID-19 vaccination at Stillman on the following dates and times:
  • Tuesday, August 24th— 9 am – 3 pm and Wednesday, August 25th—-9 am – 3 pm

Stillman College COVID-19 mitigation policies will change in response to changes in the status of the virus. Updates and modifications in our COVID-19 protocols may be warranted.
