The Harold N. Stinson Mathematics and Science Building houses the Stillman College School of Business.

The School of Arts and Sciences serves the mission of the College via its central role in providing the instruction and the experiences that define liberal arts education. The School consists of the Department of English, Journalism, and Media Communications, the Department of Natural Sciences, the Department of Psychology, the Department of Religion and Theology, and the Department of Social Sciences. Selected majors are offered in most of the areas. In addition, these units provide the interdisciplinary and introductory courses that make up the general education curriculum. Students majoring in the School may pursue programs of study that prepare them for graduate school or for careers in areas specifically related to their areas of study.

Dr. James H. Gray Jr. holds an Educational Doctorate (Ed. D.) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Nova Southeastern University. He also holds degrees of Master of Arts (M.A.) in Administration and Educational Leadership and Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Special Education concentrating in Emotional Conflict.
Dr. Gray has served as Stillman College’s Interim Dean for the School of Education as well as their Interim Director of the Career Services Department. His latest duty assignment was serving as an Academic Success Specialist and as the Academic Affairs Liaison for the Office of Disability Services at Stillman College.
Dr. Gray has over 33 years in education. After retiring from the public-school sector, he joined the Stillman family in June of 2020. Throughout his tenure in Bibb County, he served as a Resource Teacher, Assistant Principal, Interim Director of Bibb County Career Academy, and as a Central Office Administrator. In this position, he was afforded the opportunity to serve in a multitude of areas of responsibilities to include Director of Special Education, Coordinator for English Limited Learners (ELL), Coordinator of Middle School Curriculum and Instruction, and worked cooperatively as a liaison with leaders of various departments and agencies such as the United States Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights, the Emergency Management Agency, and the Juvenile Court Authority.
Dr. Gray strives to uphold Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s idea that, “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.”
