Stillman College is once again competing in the Home Depot Retool Your School competition and can win up to $150,000 to create a campus and community hub for entrepreneurship and collaboration at the Hardy House, located adjacent to campus — but we need your help.
The Retool Your School Program, created by Home Depot in 2009 to help HBCUs beautify and upgrade their schools, is a web and social media voting campaign. The 10 schools that receive the most votes per cluster — Stillman is grouped among schools with 1,200 students enrolled or fewer — will receive a grant from Home Depot for their respective campus improvement project.
Home Depot is doubling the total grant pool to $2 million to 30 HBCUs. Participating HBCUs have the chance to win a grant between $40,000 to $150,000 based on the votes received.
How to get involved
Your help could mean the difference between an awesome opportunity and a potentially great outcome for Stillman College.
Luckily, it’s easy to vote, spread the word, and boost our campaign!
Voting runs from Feb. 27 through March 26. Vote as often as you want each day across Twitter, Instagram and the Retool Your School web site.
When voting on Twitter/IG:
- Vote either on Twitter or IG using the hashtag #RYSStillman
- User account must be public; no lewd/offensive images
- Twitter original tweets, quote tweets, and retweets count as votes as long as the hashtag #RYSStillman is used
- IG votes are counted if it is an original in-feed post or an original story with the hashtag #RYSStillman
It’s that easy! To make it even easier, we’ve created a toolkit of graphics and recommended social posts to share and help spread the word.
