The Brand, Identity & Social Media Officer is responsible for safeguarding and elevating Stillman College’s institutional brand across all platforms. This role manages the college’s brand standards, ensures visual and messaging consistency, oversees social media strategy and execution, and supports licensing, merchandising, and vendor compliance. The Officer plays a critical role in advancing Stillman’s public image—especially during the 150th Anniversary Celebration—by creating compelling digital content, strengthening audience engagement, and ensuring that all materials produced by internal and external partners reflect the Stillman Way. This position reports to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and will work closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Brand & Identity Stewardship Serve as the primary guardian of Stillman College’s brand identity and standards.
Maintain and enforce Stillman’s brand standards, visual identity guidelines, and editorial style guide.
Review all internal and external materials for brand consistency, quality, and accuracy.
Lead institutional brand integrity efforts across academic, administrative, and athletic units.
Manage approvals for use of Stillman logos, marks, and imagery.
Provide brand training and support to faculty, staff, students, alumni, and external partners.
Creative Services & Content Development Support development of creative assets including graphics, photography, video, print, and digital materials.
Collaborate with departments to ensure campaigns and publications align with institutional branding.
Manage branded templates, digital assets, and creative resources.
Guide visual storytelling that highlights student success, alumni pride, and Stillman’s mission in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications Manager.
Support Social Media Efforts Partner with Marketing & Communications Manager to ensure brand alignment.
Collaborate on creating and publishing engaging, timely, and brand-aligned content.
Respond to comments and messages in a manner consistent with Stillman’s voice and values.
Lead social media campaigns tied to admissions, fundraising, student life, athletics, and special events.
Advise campus departments on best practices and ensure proper oversight of affiliated accounts.
Licensing, Merchandising & Vendor Oversight Manage campus licensing program to protect Stillman’s trademarks and ensure proper use.
Review and approve vendor applications, designs, merchandise, and promotional items.
Support partnerships with licensed vendors and retailers to expand Stillman- branded offerings.
Collaborate with Athletics and Student Affairs to maintain NCAA and institutional compliance.
Institutional Marketing Support Assist with marketing campaigns supporting recruitment, retention, fundraising, and major college events.
Support crisis communications and brand reputation monitoring, as appropriate.
Maintain brand consistency across print, digital, web, and video.
Sesquicentennial (150th Anniversary) Support Support development and implementation of social and digital content for the 150th Anniversary campaign.
Ensure all Sesquicentennial materials follow commemorative brand guidelines.
Support special events, storytelling initiatives, and donor/alumni engagement efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, digital media, public relations, or related field.
Minimum 2–4 years of experience in branding, marketing, social media management, or creative services.
Strong graphic design, photography, and/or digital content skills.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or comparable tools.
Experience supporting advancement or enrollment communications. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining brand integrity.
Preferred Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or mission-driven environments.
Knowledge of licensing, merchandising, or trademark processes.
Experience with analytics tools (Meta Insights, Sprout, Hootsuite, Later, Google Analytics, etc.).
Experience creating content for diverse audiences including donors, alumni, and prospective students.
