The TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Academic Advisor provides counseling, advising, guidance, and assistance to participants. The Academic Advisor will establish, coordinate, andconduct activities to provide services and support to college students from limited-income backgrounds, those with disabilities, and/or who are the first in their families to attend college.The successful candidate will provide services to newly recruited participants and recruit new students throughout the school year, assist in the planning and implementation of programservices, oversee the programming component (i.e., enrichment activities and events), and work in collaboration with other SSS staff to develop policies and processes. Key responsibilitiesinclude, but are not limited to, recruitment and documentation, academic services, workshops, events, and graduate school visits. This is a 12-month full-time position.
Minimum Qualifications● Bachelor’s degree in guidance and counseling, humanities, or social science with at least three years’ experience working in a program with similar goals and objectives to those of the SSS Program● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills● Able to work independently with minimal supervision● Valid driver's license and the ability to drive College vehicles or rental vehicles for conferences and/or trips● Demonstrated ability to work effectively with college students, staff, and administration● Background or experience aligning with that of the target population● Experience planning programming (i.e., educational and enrichment activities and experiences)● Knowledge of career development, college admissions, and study skills
Preferred Qualifications● Master's degree● Knowledge of recruitment strategies for limited-income and first-generation students● Prior TRIO experience

Salary will be $40,000-$45,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
