Stillman College invites applications for a Cybersecurity Professor to support its growing academic programs in cybersecurity, information systems, and related computing disciplines.The successful candidate will contribute to teaching excellence, curriculum development, student engagement, and institutional service while preparing students for careers in cybersecurity, information assurance, and digital risk management.
Primary Responsibilities
Teaching & Instruction Teach undergraduate (and/or graduate, if applicable) courses in cybersecurity, information security, networking, and related areas Deliver courses in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats Incorporate hands-on labs, case studies, simulations, and industry tools into coursework Assess student learning outcomes and support continuous improvement
Curriculum & Program Development Contribute to the development and review of cybersecurity curriculum aligned with industry standards and accreditation requirements Assist with the development of micro-credentials, certificates, or specialized tracks in cybersecurity Support program assessment, documentation, and accreditation efforts (e.g., IACBE or related bodies)
Student Engagement & Advising Advise and mentor students academically and professionally Support student internships, experiential learning, competitions, and industry certifications Participate in recruitment, retention, and student success initiatives
Scholarship & Service Engage in scholarly activities appropriate to rank and appointment Participate in departmental, school, and college committees
Contribute to community engagement and industry partnerships related to cybersecurity
Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related field (Doctorate preferred for tenure-track) Demonstrated ability to teach cybersecurity or related computing courses Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk management, network security, and information assurance Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related discipline Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security+, Network+, or similar Industry experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or digital forensics Experience with online teaching platforms and learning management systems (e.g., Canvas) Commitment to teaching and mentoring students at a liberal arts, HBCU institution
