Description

The Stillman College Fine Arts Department announces a vacancy for a part-time Woodwinds Instructor, specializing in saxophone, clarinet or flute. Reporting to the Chair of the Fine Arts Department, the Woodwinds Instructor directs undergraduate Music and Music Education majors’ development of competency on one or more woodwind instruments. 

 

Job Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Teach weekly individual lessons to students majoring in saxophone, clarinet, or flute/piccolo.
  • Direct weekly studios 
  • Guide recital preparation
  • Hold juries 

Other Duties 

  • Plan and deliver lessons
  • Attend woodwind recitals and evaluate student performance
  • Maintain grades, attendance, and other data current in the LMS and ERP
  • Coordinate with other instrument instructors as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Education Required:

  • An awarded master’s degree or higher in Music, Music or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education is preferred.
  • Eighteen completed hours toward the Master’s degree at the time of application are required.
