Position: Education Specialist

 

Department: School of Education/Elementary, Collaborative (SPED), and Secondary Education     

 

Immediate Supervisor: Department Chair

 

Status: Full Time

 

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

  • Teach elementary pedagogy and content courses
  • Teach program and departmental courses
  • Conduct research and scholarly pursuits within the department
  • Perform service activities to include advisement and committee assignments
  • Participate in structured real-world experiences in P-12 school setting(s)
  • Attend regular departmental and School meetings
  • Serve on committees
  • Monitor and evaluate student outcomes through informal and formative assessments
  • Communicate and interact with students effectively and consistently
  • Develop and select instructional plans and materials to meet student needs
  • Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and best practices

 

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Terminal degree (Ph.D, Ed.D)
  • Required: Bachelors or Masters in Elementary Education
  • Successful teaching experience at the P-12 level along with teaching experience within a multicultural environment
