Description

The Vice President of Enrollment Management (VPEM) is the senior administrator of the College who bears ultimate responsibility for identifying, attracting, admitting, yielding and retaining the students who will come to Stillman College and ultimately become its alumni. The VPEM will have direct managerial responsibility and oversight for the Offices of Admissions, the Registrar and Student Financial Services. The VPEM will develop collaborative relationships with other leaders, faculty, staff, and students to ensure integration of operational and strategic enrollment management initiatives across campus.

 

The VPEM reports to the President, to achieve strategic objectives, including:

  • Maximizing net tuition revenue while increasing quality and diversity of undergraduate student body
  • Increasing diversity and percentage of international undergraduate enrollment 
  • Increasing access for low-income students through innovative programs and scholarship initiatives

 

As the Chief Enrollment Management officer, he/she has primary responsibility for leadership, management, strategic direction, and administrative oversight for enhancing student access and enrollment services. The Vice President participates in planning, budgeting, and policy development in support of the mission and goals of the college.

 

Job Responsibilities
  • Focused on the College’s mission, vision and strategic goals, lead the Division of Enrollment Management and cultivate collaborative relationships with College colleagues and external constituencies to ensure consistent strategic enrollment management success;
  • Informed by data and analytics, professional experience working collaboratively with the academic departments, the Budget Office, Provost, and Vice President for Student Affairs, develop and execute strategic and operational enrollment management plans that meet or exceed strategic goals while ensuring cohesion across the enrollment management continuum from precollege programs through admissions, yield and graduation.
  • Partner with the Budget Office to develop multi-year net tuition projections and to strategize regarding tuition and fee rates to maintain competitive advantage while communicating the value proposition of a Stillman education to prospective students and their parents, understanding the complexities of resident and non-resident financial aid options.
  • Regularly review progress toward the goals of the strategic enrollment plan, ensuring that the division’s human and financial resources are deployed effectively and efficiently to achieve tactical and operational goals; analyze, evaluate, and report data in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness related to the enrollment plan and initiatives, and adjust strategies based on that analysis; recommend resource allocation strategies to achieve goals.
  • Exhibit responsiveness, flexibility, and creativity to ensure the College meets or exceeds enrollment goals given the dynamic and competitive enrollment environment, utilizing resources effectively and efficiently to achieve the optimal balance between ongoing goals of increasing quality and diversity of our students while maximizing net revenue;
  • Develop and execute a successful strategy for increasing enrollment and success of first-generation college students.
  • Collaborate with the executive cabinet on student success initiatives that promote retention and graduation, and to develop successful pipeline programs that enable the college to reach its strategic goals.
  • Develop and manage student financial assistance programs that address the College’s enrollment priorities, from admission through retention and graduation; work with Development and Alumni Relations to create scholarship programs that will be supported by fundraising to help meet strategic enrollment goals.
  • Collaborate with the Offices of Communications and Marketing, Institutional Research and Effectiveness and Government Relations, as well as the Colleges, to create and disseminate a clear and compelling message to prospective students and their parents as well as other key constituencies regarding the value proposition of a Stillman education; work to strengthen the marketing activities of the enrollment management division, and to ensure consistency of brand and timeliness of campaigns; effectively balance communications with prospective students to increase yield and minimize fatigue and costs; continue to help refine and automate access and affordability data to be responsive to internal and external constituents need for recurring reports;
  • Work with admissions and the departments to ensure that the first impressions prospective students have of the College are first-rate and high touch; campus contacts and visits need to be of the highest possible caliber, balancing student volunteer, faculty and staff involvement to deliver accurate information, create prospective student attachment and optimize yield.
  • Engage faculty, staff, senior leadership, alumni, and students in the recruitment process, galvanizing the many constituencies of the college to join in helping realize enrollment goals.
  • Work to ensure seamless, customer-centered handling of issues that arise with regard to admissions, financial aid, and student success balancing high touch with technological solutions as appropriate.
  • Continually assess and revise the organization, systems, processes, and procedures of the division of enrollment management to improve efficiency and effectiveness, evaluating peer strategies to remain competitive; and
  • Ensure effective management of budget, personnel, technology, and workflow for the division

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters degree: A minimum of 8 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact and work effectively with administrators, academic leadership, faculty, students, community leadership, public officials, funding agencies, and members of the community at large.
