Description

The TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Professional Tutor provides tutoring, advising, guidance, and assistance to participants. The Professional Tutor will establish, coordinate, and conduct tutorial activities to provide services and support to college students from limited-income backgrounds, those with disabilities, and/or who are the first in their families to attend college. The successful candidate will provide services to any SSS participants who may need tutorial services throughout the school year, assist in the planning and implementation of tutorial services, oversee the tutorial component, and work in collaboration with other SSS staff to develop policies and processes. This is a 12-month full-time position.

Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications● Bachelor’s degree in math or any science-related field with at least two years of teaching experience or working in a program with similar goals and objectives to those of the SSS Program● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills● Able to work independently with minimal supervision● Valid driver's license and the ability to drive College vehicles or rental vehicles for conferences and/or trips● Demonstrated ability to work effectively with college students, staff, and administration● Background or experience aligning with that of the target population● Experience planning programming (i.e., educational and enrichment activities and experiences)● Be able to effectively tutor students from diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications● Master's degree● Knowledge of tutorial strategies for limited-income and first-generation students● Prior TRIO and teaching experience 

Additional InformationYou must submit your resume, cover letter, and list of three (3) professional references, including current contact information. This position will remain open until it is filled; however, priority consideration will be given to applications received on or before November 21, 2025. Salary will be $40,000-$45,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience. All offers of employment are conditional pending the successful completion of a background investigation.
