The Assistant Director/Coordinator of Upward Bound manages daily operations, supervises staff, coordinates activities, liaises with schools/families, tracks data, and supports college applications and financial aid.
QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience:A master’s degree in guidance and counseling, education administration, or a related field is preferred, along with 3 years of experience working with disadvantaged students or TRIO Programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Identify, recruit, and retain 132 participants for the Upward Bound Program• Assess each participant’s needs• Design an educational plan and provide necessary services to each participant to ensure that educational needs are met for retention and graduation• Develop and provide cultural, social, and personal development activities and trips for participants• Provide services and activities to ensure persistence and graduation• Design and implement services to motivate participants to enroll in college• Assess Program services and activities to ascertain the degree to which objectivesare met (weekly meetings, monthly reports, file reviews, activities and services evaluation, semi-annual reports, and annual performance reports)• Provide counseling and mentoring services• Assist participants in applying for college• Administer program assessment, score, compile, record, interpret, and submit a report for each assessment• Monitor participants’ progress and maintain participants’ records (Blumen and handwritten)• Document services, activities, and make recommendations/suggestions for improvements• Facilitate workshops based on participant needs• Assist with follow-up and tracking participants• Maintain program roster and demographic profile• Attend campus meetings, programs, TRIO workshops, and conferences• Assist with maintaining a waiting list and securing missing information needed to complete applications• Develop and maintain uniform participant files• Provide leadership in securing data and assist with writing proposals
• Perform other duties required to promote program effectiveness• Other duties as assigned

SALARY RANGE• $50,00-$55,000
