Strategic Goals

Overview

The Strategic Goals outlined in Stillman College’s 2025–2030 Strategic Plan: ASCEND serve as the guiding framework for institutional advancement over the next five years. Aligned with six strategic priorities, these goals aim to strengthen academic excellence, increase enrollment, improve infrastructure, expand community partnerships, and ensure financial sustainability. Together, these efforts reflect the College’s deep commitment to becoming a model institution of higher education rooted in service, innovation, and student success.

Strategic Priority 1: Student Success

Demonstrate a commitment to the success of our students through innovative engagement efforts that begin before arrival and continue after graduation.

Goals:

  • 1.1 Promote and emphasize the use of student learning outcomes, academic support, and retention in curricular and co-curricular programming.

  • 1.2 Create new and support existing programs, activities, and services designed to assist students in adjusting to and succeeding in a college environment.

  • 1.3 Develop and integrate career preparation opportunities such as internships, co-ops, civic engagement, and international education.

  • 1.4 Implement services that promote well-being, health and wellness, civic engagement, and personal growth.

Develop a college-wide, inclusive enrollment strategy that strengthens recruitment, retention, and graduation outcomes.

Goals:

  • 2.1 Create a strategic enrollment process focused on increasing educational opportunities for undergraduate students.

  • 2.2 Grow targeted, high-demand programs to attract traditional, non-traditional, online, transfer, military, and international students.

  • 2.3 Recruit a prepared, intellectually curious, and diversified student body.

Build and maintain a secure, modern infrastructure that supports innovation and excellence in teaching, learning, and operations.

Goals:

  • 3.1 Explore and implement innovative technology that enhances the student experience and academic success.

  • 3.2 Design and maintain technical infrastructure that fosters cybersecurity and supports core institutional services.

  • 3.3 Improve enterprise data systems to support informed decision-making and the evaluation of blended and distance learning.

Foster impactful community relationships that enhance education, research, and institutional visibility.

Goals:

  • 4.1 Increase and strengthen community outreach and educational partnerships, including internships and service-learning opportunities.

  • 4.2 Develop workforce partnerships that create local and regional employment opportunities.

  • 4.3 Promote and protect the College’s brand through integrated communication strategies.

 

Ensure the relevance, competitiveness, and quality of academic programs and pathways to prepare students for post-graduate success.

Goals:

  • 5.1 Implement policies that uphold academic excellence and student achievement.

  • 5.2 Regularly review and revise programs to maintain relevance and strong learning outcomes.

  • 5.3 Develop new academic offerings, including degree, certificate, and continuing education programs, to meet workforce demands.

  • 5.4 Advance Stillman College toward achieving university status.

 

Enhance financial sustainability and institutional capacity through philanthropy, partnerships, and stewardship.

Goals:

  • 6.1 Increase philanthropic giving across constituencies.

  • 6.2 Deepen alumni engagement in fundraising initiatives.

  • 6.3 Expand grant opportunities and access to funding networks.

  • 6.4 Establish and strengthen strategic partnerships with public and private entities.

  • 6.5 Promote financial stewardship and operational efficiency across all divisions.

Together, these strategic goals position Stillman College to ascend toward its vision of academic excellence, institutional resilience, and transformational impact in higher education and the broader community.
