Stillman College’s Art, Music, & Language Education Department in the School of Education is searching for part-time visiting professors to teach undergraduate-level classes in Studio Art and Art Education. Areas of interest include 2D Design, Graphic Design, Photography, Printmaking, Book Arts, Fiber Arts, Jewelry Design, Art History and Art Education (specific classes will be determined based on need and area of specialty). Instructors will be responsible for developing course content, using a variety of teaching strategies and methods, and maintaining student records. Successful applicants will have a master’s degree or higher in their area(s) of specialty. To be considered for a full-time position, applicants must hold a PhD or terminal degree or have completed 30 semester hours of post-bachelor’s, graduate-level coursework from a regionally accredited institution appropriate to Art, and transcripts must indicate area of concentration. Previous teaching at the college level is preferred. Academic qualifications must be in compliance with the Alabama Department of Education Administrative Code. The term of employment begins August 2022 and continues through May 2023. Continuation beyond this period is contingent on institutional need and instructor performance.
