Stillman College invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor of Religion and Theology. We seek a dedicated educator committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching and student engagement within a liberal arts environment rooted in the historical mission of Stillman College. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Religion and Theology and contribute to the intellectual and spiritual development of students through high-quality instruction, mentorship, and active engagement in the classroom.
Primary ResponsibilitiesTeach undergraduate courses in Religion and Theology as assigned by the department.Deliver instruction using effective pedagogical practices and appropriate instructional technologies.Foster student engagement through active learning, critical inquiry, and thoughtful discussion.Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.Utilize the College's Learning Management System (LMS) to support instruction and communication.Participate in departmental meetings and activities as appropriate.Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.Required QualificationsMaster's degree in Religion, Theology, Biblical Studies, Ethics, Ministry, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
Demonstrated knowledge of religion and theology content areas.Ability to teach undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds.Strong oral and written communication skills.Experience using instructional technology and learning management systems.Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Religion, Theology, Biblical Studies, Ethics, Ministry, or a closely related field.College-level teaching experience.Demonstrated ability to teach courses in areas such as biblical studies, theology, ethics, church history, comparative religion, African American religious traditions, ministry, or related disciplines.Experience mentoring and advising undergraduate students.Evidence of professional engagement through scholarship, ministry, community outreach, or related activities.Application InstructionsApplicants should submit:1.
